Start your engines!

The Pack 472 Pinewood Derby is coming here!
Saturday, February 22nd at the Mariposa Elementary MPR.

Here’s the plan

Friday, February 21st (5-7pm)
Stop by Cubmaster Phil’s house house anytime between 5 and 7pm to have your car checked in (address available in Scoubook). We’ll be measuring, weighing, etc. and will have limited tools available should you need to make any alterations (see Official Rules below).

Saturday, February 22nd

• 11am: Setup
• Noon: Race!!!
• 2:00pm: Awards
• 2:30pm: Tear down

Don’t forget to bring some cash for refreshments at the pit stop snack shop!

You will receive your Pinewood Derby kits at the January Pack Meeting. If you were unable to attend, please contact your Den Leader as soon as possible so you have enough time to get your car race ready.

Please follow the Official Rules included in the BSA Pinewood Derby Kit for the build (also available online – https://www.scoutshop.org/pwd-rules).

Awards will be given for the three fastest cars, the slowest car (that still crosses the finish line) and best design/decoration. While we won’t all go home with a trophy, we will all have fun. This is the perfect event to remind our Scouts about sportsmanship.

This is a family event and everyone is welcome. The main race will be for the Scouts, but as mentioned above, we’ll have time after the main event for siblings and others to race for fun. So, if you built or have an extra car, bring it.
