DESCRIPTION:Come join Pack 472 on our Fall Hike!   We’ll be meeting at the Pima Canyon Trailhead. Our older Scouts will hike the Pima Wash Trail to West Loop. This is an easy trail according to All Trails @ 2.7 miles. Expect 1 to 1.5 hours to complete the hike. We’ll have a shorter hike for the younger Scouts with all the adventure and a little less distance. \nPlease meet at the Pima Canyon Trailhead and be ready to start the hike @ 9 am sharp to beat the heat. Parking can be a challenge so we suggest arriving at or around 8:30 am. Wear good hiking shoes and don’t forget your 6 essentials – (Filled Water Bottle\, Small first aid kit\, Whistle\, Flashlight\, Sun Protection\, Trail Mix)

DESCRIPTION:Start your engines!\nThe Pack 472 Pinewood Derby is coming here!\nSaturday\, February 22nd at the Mariposa Elementary MPR. \nHere’s the plan \nFriday\, February 21st (5-7pm)\nStop by Cubmaster Phil’s house house anytime between 5 and 7pm to have your car checked in (address available in Scoubook). We’ll be measuring\, weighing\, etc. and will have limited tools available should you need to make any alterations (see Official Rules below). \nSaturday\, February 22nd \n\n11am: Setup\nNoon: Race!!!\n2:00pm: Awards\n2:30pm: Tear down\n\nDon’t forget to bring some cash for refreshments at the pit stop snack shop! \nYou will receive your Pinewood Derby kits at the January Pack Meeting. If you were unable to attend\, please contact your Den Leader as soon as possible so you have enough time to get your car race ready. \nPlease follow the Official Rules included in the BSA Pinewood Derby Kit for the build (also available online – https://www.scoutshop.org/pwd-rules). \nAwards will be given for the three fastest cars\, the slowest car (that still crosses the finish line) and best design/decoration. While we won’t all go home with a trophy\, we will all have fun. This is the perfect event to remind our Scouts about sportsmanship. \nThis is a family event and everyone is welcome. The main race will be for the Scouts\, but as mentioned above\, we’ll have time after the main event for siblings and others to race for fun. So\, if you built or have an extra car\, bring it. \nSee you on race day!

DESCRIPTION:NOTE: We’re moving to the Desert Breeze Ramadas – Acacia Pavilion. \nOur scouts have been busy – we have a lot of achievements to recognize and award.  We’ll also be holding our Annual Cake Walk. The Cake Walk is a fun event and a chance for you to get creative with your scout! \nCake Walk Details\nWhat do Parents Need to do?\nSpend time with your scout planning\, baking and decorating a cake/cupcakes. Or\, keep it simple and find something that you like at the store. \nGive your treat a name and bring it to the pack meeting sealed in a cake box or some type of container that you do not need to get back. \nHow does the Cake Walk work?\nWhen you arrive at the meeting\, your cake will be checked in and placed on display. After we wrap up announcements and achievements\, we’ll start the cake walk. \nThe winner of each round will get to choose a cake from the display table to take home. If you bring a cake\, you will go home with a cake! If you have more than one scout in the troop (or if siblings want to participate) each participant must bring their own cake to the event. \nWe will also be recognizing a few outstanding cakes with special awards\, so get creative! \n\nMost Appetizing\nMost Unique\nBest in Show\n\nRegarding dietary restrictions\, allergies\, etc. If you have any concerns\, please email us. We’ll do our best to match accommodations to ensure everyone has an opportunity to bring something home.

DESCRIPTION:Five\, Four\, Three\, Two\, One… Blast Off. Let’s go fly a rocket! Guests\, as always\, are welcome to visit us – see if Pack 472 is the right fit for your family. \nThe 2024 Pack 472 Rocket Derby will be on Saturday 11/2 starting at 12:00pm (for Set-Up / Prep volunteers) and 1:00pm for everyone else. It will be held at Desert Foothills Park\, Southwest corner of Chandler Blvd & Desert Foothills Pkwy. \nScouts should wear Class B Uniforms (t-shirt) and closed-toed shoes. This is an outdoor event so wear sunscreen and bring camping chairs or other comfortable folding chairs. If you have a shade tent/pop-up\, you might want to bring that too. \nWhile we are at a park\, this is not a pet friendly event. \nThis is a family event\, so bring the whole family!
